Corner stations

Unlike intersections, there is only one possible direction of travel when the direction of travel is changed at a corner station.

 

P90A

The P90A is responsible for determining the direction of travel at a 90° corner. The workpiece carrier (WT) travels from the main belt onto the U90° transfer unit until it reaches the inside stop (AI). The outside sensor (SA) is able to determine when the workpiece carrier is located directly above the U90° transfer unit. Subsequent workpiece carriers in the system are held back by a pre-stopper (VS). A lower sensor (SU) can be used to determine when the workpiece carrier has left the U90° transfer unit on the transverse section.

 

P90E

The P90E is responsible for determining the direction of travel at a 90° corner. The workpiece carrier (WT) travels from the transverse section onto the U90° transfer unit until it reaches the outside stop (AA). The pre-stopper (VS) ensures that only one workpiece carrier (WT) travels onto the transfer unit at a time. The outside sensor (SA) is able to determine the position of the workpiece carrier when it has reached the outside stop. The U90° transfer unit can now be lowered, and the workpiece carrier is conveyed further along the main belt. The lower sensor (SU) is able to determine when the workpiece carrier has moved fully away from the U90° transfer unit. The transfer unit is then raised back into position before the pre-stopper (VS) releases the next workpiece carrier.

 

P180

The P180 workstation is used to change the direction of workpiece carriers by 180° at a U180° transfer unit. A workpiece carriers (WT) coming from the main belt is positioned above the U180° transfer unit by an inside stop (AI). The outside sensor (SA) is able to determine whether the workpiece carrier is located directly above the transfer unit. Subsequent workpiece carriers in the system are held back by a pre-stopper (VS). The transfer unit is raised by pneumatics and transports the workpiece carrier in the direction of the transverse section until it reaches the outside stop (AA). Next to the outside stop, there is also an outside sensor (SA) that is able to determine whether the workpiece carrier is positioned at the outside stop. When this is the case, the U90° transfer unit can be lowered. The workpiece carrier is placed onto the drive belt of the transverse section, where it continues along the conveyor path.
